Toyota's Corolla Edge special-edition models offer substantial added value.

TOYOTA ADDS SPORTY "EDGE" TO COROLLA

Toyota has spiced-up its top-selling Corolla hatch with a sporty body kit, special alloy wheels and other features, which provide substantial added value.

Toyota values the extra equipment on the special-edition Corolla Edge at more than $1800, but is charging just $750 over the list price of the Corolla Ascent on which it is based.

The body kit consists of a large rear spoiler and side skirts, while the 16-inch alloy wheels feature a "blade" design and 205/55 tyres.

Corolla Edge also gains front foglamps, rear mud guards, six-stack CD sound system with LCD display, Bluetooth™^ telephone and audio streaming capability and carpet mats.

It is available for a limited time only, with the choice of a six-speed manual (from $22,240*) or a four-speed automatic transmission (from $24,240).

Corolla has been Australia's best-selling small car for the past nine years, including a record of 47,901 sales in 2008.

Total Corolla sales in Australia passed the one-million mark in 2007. Since then a further 75,000 have been sold.

The special-edition Corolla Edge is powered by a 100kW 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine equipped with variable-valve timing on the inlet and outlet ports.

Standard features include driver and front-passenger airbags, anti-skid brakes with brake assist and electronic brake force distribution, tilt and telescopic steering column adjustment, power front windows and air-conditioning.

Corolla Edge models are covered by Toyota Service Advantage - low, capped-price servicing of just $130 for each of the first six standard scheduled services over three years or 60,000km (whichever comes first).**
